It's Time! Short Songs For Patrons V is Here
ICYMI, I'm taking a short break from the Clockmaker project. Need to clear my head and get some fresh ideas. Therefore, Short Songs For Patrons V is here!
Click here to fill in a teeny little form by June 30.
This is just to let me know what moment needs a soundtrack in your life.
SSFPÂ was the first. It was an experiment to see what I could do within a "short song" constraint.
SSFPIIÂ was based on a specific feel or vibe that patrons sent me (everything from "make it super dark" to "i wanna drink").
SSFPIIIÂ was the photo album, where you sent me your personal photos and I made songs inspired by them.
SSFPIVÂ turned into Michaels Regret, the first part of the Clockmaker Trilogy.
SSFPV is leaning into a phrase I think about a lot when I think of these short songs:
Soundtrack for Life
I feel like all of life's little moments deserve their own little soundtrack. In fact, ever since I was a kid, I'd make up tunes in my head to accompany whatever task was at hand or when observing someone or something.
Anything little slice of life could have a soundtrack:
- Brushing your teeth
- Fixing a creaky door
- Going for a bike ride
- Finding something interesting at the farmer's market
- Flying to a destination
- Crying uncontrollably
- Meeting an old friend for coffee
- Waiting for the train
- Opening up your work email and filling with dread
- Starting a new book
- Rearranging furniture in a room
- Waiting in line for a public washroom
Honestly, if I gave it time, I could come up with a thousand of life's little moments that deserve a little soundtrack. These aren't big, celebratory milestones. They don't really have to be noteworthy at all. That's what makes it fun!
Here's what I need from you:
Tell me about one of your life's little moments. Think along the lines of the examples above, but the sky is the limit. Just don't send me anything gross please. ;)

If you don't send something in by then, no problem. I'll pick something fun and/or weird for you. :)
You must be a patron in good standing from June 30 through July 30.
Are you ready?
