Patron Songs Update II: Listening Party, Stir-Crazy, Ridiculous Names

A mural of a robot on the side of a building

Hi everyone,

Hope your summer is going well!

Mine is decent. Mostly at home, with a lot of busy weekends out of the house because like most people right now, I'm officially stir-crazy.

The songs are coming along. Not as quickly as I'd aimed for, but still hoping to have everything (recording/mixing/mastering) done by end of August, which means songs in your headphones by September (I hope)!

I wish I could convey how hard I'm working on these tunes for you. Sometimes I worry if I don't post enough updates, you might think I'm not getting stuff done. Thanks for putting your faith in me to get these done for you.

Currently, I have 8 tunes done, with several in the works.

Sheet music for alto and tenor saxophones

I have a bad habit of naming tunes ridiculous, impossible-to-remember things. Eg, I did a tune years ago called During The Festival, The Lunatic Will Speak And No One Will Listen, But Everyone Will Hear His Balderdash And Laugh As Though They Know Any Better. It's an instrumental piece, heavy on saxophone and piano. It had no lyrics. 😂

I do this largely because I'm forced to give each recording a file name when I save it, and because I often didn't know where the music was going yet, I started using increasingly silly, long, arbitrary names.

Anyway, while I do intend to name everyone's song eventually, they're currently just named after the people for whom they're written, so I can keep track.

Patrons-Only Album Pre-Launch Listening Party

Once the tunes are done and ready for you, I'm going to host a patrons-only virtual listening party where we can have the first listen to all the tunes together!

I'll tell you any fun tidbits you might want about the making of each. They're pretty varied in style/technique, so I can go in-depth into the technical stuff if people are feeling nerdy or just give a quick listen and chat if people don't want to peer too far behind the curtain.

Once I figure out a date, I'll post a patron-only invitation.

That's it for now. Thanks for your support!

Keep listening to interesting music and look forward to your song!
