October Update: New Music / Old Music, Live Streaming, Electricloud Recordings Goes Legit / Logo / Rebrand

As always, thank you so much for being a patron. It fuels my fire, and makes me very excited about the future!

October's been a crazy month for me! My day job went on strike, so I had some extra time to work on music in between picket shifts. I also finally got to say that I was making more money from music than my day job - that was pretty fun, and due, in no small part, to patrons!

New Music / Old Music

At some point, I stopped working on entirely new stuff, though, to focus on reviving some tunes from my past, which has been a lot of fun for me. I used to lead and write for an ensemble called Chris Carlier & The Scarletts, consisting of euphonium, piano, electric bass, percussion and me on bass clarinet, sax, guitar and vocals. The group disbanded years ago, but I produced electronic and performed electronic versions a while back. Unfortunately, I lost those tracks - so I'm making more and doing it better. The intention is then to use these as releases, but also edit them for use in a live solo set (coming in the new year). :)

Live Streaming

I've been looking into high-quality live streaming for patrons. Hoping to do a couple of things with this: patron-only concerts, possibly some video chats and other fun stuff in the future. This has me doing a bunch of online research for gear, video streaming services, etc.

Electricloud Recordings Goes Legit / Logo / Rebrand

As I mentioned in a recent post, I'm working with a printer in town to come up with a new logo. I'm also updating the look and feel of the brand to make it more legit looking. Once the design is finalized, I'm getting some tees done, at the very least, then hoping for hoodies, enamle pins, etc. Somewhere in here, I also axed the old electricloud.com wordpress site, favouring a bandcamp site, directly (check it out at electricloud.com). This will make life easier for merch and stuff, as well, when the time comes.

So... yeah. Busy month. Have a couple more surprises coming up for next month, as well. See you soon!
