Summer Vibes

The last big summer thing I look forward to each August is Regina Folk Festival. I've been going, every year, for 10ish-15ish years and have so many great musical memories because of it. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that I literally think of RFF as summer, itself. It came and went, once again, swooping me up in a wash of hippy-dippy-feel-good-times: 3 days of great music, chilling with pals, expensive cheap wine, bumping into excellent people I haven't seen in a while, and, of course, rain.

I typically follow that up with a week off from workaday life to focus on music, but this year took a bit of an exciting turn: I went to Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick - where there is also no shortage of live music. I haven't had an actual holiday - especially one where I left the province in years!

I took a heap of download cards to Folk Fest and to the east coast. Left them all over the place, and handed them to a bunch of cool people I met along the way!

Summer's Over

On the plus side, I finished a demo version of that commission piece. I also worked on an released the first new music from my oldest pseudonym in 12 years! Pretty pumped about that, actually. If you're feeling it, I would sure appreciate you sharing the track with someone who might like it! :) Colder months tend to be a little steadier to work on music, as the chilly basement suddenly becomes warm and cozy against the perpetual -40°C that is the Saskatchewan outdoors in winter. I have a number of items nearly ready for September, so look forward to some new tunes!

Plans?

Finally, I have a (...plan is a strong word...) idea for live performance this winter. Look out, Regina.
