July 2019 Update: All Directions At Once
Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you, as always for being a patron! I means a lot to me, knowing there are awesome folks like you, willing to help me reach goals and make a better and better craft for you!
It's been a busy July! Most of it - good busy. Some of it - not good busy. Let's focus on the good though. There's been a lot of good!
Short Songs For Patrons
As you know, I finished custom songs for patrons who joined before the end of June (with my production computer only catching fire once). If you lost / didn't receive your download code, let me know and I'll send you a new one.
For those of you who joined after the end of June, don't worry. I am definitely going to do something like this for patrons again, in the future. It was a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun!
The whole compilation is available to patrons for free and to the rest of the world for a modest price. You should have received a download code for that too. Again, let me know if you didn't and I'll get you fixed up.
Super Secret Summer Sampler
In an effort to basically advertise on the cheap, I compiled a handful of tunes to release under the Electricloud Recordings label. Naturally, patrons got it first, but I plan to release it publicly, this Friday, for free until the end of August. Once it's out there, I'm going to use a combo of social media, word-of-mouth, nifty little download cards I made, and, hopefully, your help to let people know about it. The release and QR code will be live on Friday, August 2.
ps. I plan to personally be handing out download cards at Regina Folk Fest, August 9-11. Keep an eye out for me, if you're downtown. And, if you're feeling really ambitious/generous, I've attached a pdf copy of the download card that you can print off and hand out to unsuspecting family/friends/co-workers. :)
Commission Work
I was commissioned by a romantic groom to write and record a piece for his 20th wedding anniversary. It's going to be in a nice, sappy country sort of style. It may be commission work, but patrons still get it first! Note, though, because this likely won't be a public release, it will only be available to Brass Section patrons and higher. I've got a soft spot for sappy country, and he gave me lots of great stories for inspiration. It's about half written and should be done in about a week or two... hopefully.
By the way, I do commission work! If you want some sound for fun or to compliment your next project, give me a shout!
I think that's it. If I forgot something, I'll pop it into next month's update.
Be well and hopefully I see you before summer's over!
