May 2019 Update: A Piece of Music is Trying to Kill me (Again)!
Thank you, as always, for your support! It means more to me than you know.
A piece of music is trying to kill me (again)!
I've spent the majority of the last month working on a single piece for the Lu soundtrack. I've mentioned it once or twice already, but it's this big, intense number, with full orchestral instrumentation, including some exciting percussion. It'll pay off once it's done (I hope), but it's really slow going, as I tend to be very meticulous with large orchestration, sometimes spending a few hours on getting just the right sound out of a snare drum; sometimes finalizing a string part in moments. You never know with these things.
A little bit of live action
As a member of The Lincoln Loggers, I played a brief half set at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. (pictured above). We got rained out halfway through, and had to quickly pack up, but we had fun anyway. I think we made $25 or something. Good thing, because the beer fund has been empty for a while. The Loggers are planning a big comeback show in early July (watch my Twitter for that).
More Patreon
This month, I'm officially trying to drum up some business for this Patreon thing. I'll be hitting up friends, family, co-workers, randos on the street, and would love your help in doing the same! In an ideal world, all I would do is write/perform/record music. I'm not about to quit my day job, but right now, I'd like to dream of a world where at least I break even on the costs of being a musician. Haha! I'll have a separate specific post on this soon.
That's it for this month. Stay tuned for some more updates, and more music soon!
