January 2019 Update

Hi all,

Thanks so much for your support!

It's been a busy month, so I wanted to throw down some details on what's been going on...

Lu Soundtrack

The bulk of my music writing/production time in January has been spent on making tracks and writing storyline for this soundtrack to a film that doesn't exist (yet?).

As part of the broader project of 20 different made-up artists, I figured I'd be a fool not to include my own name in the mix, but since I'm creating all the music for all these projects, I figured it would be sensible to assign myself a role or persona, as well.  I love movie and video game music!  It is my dream to do nothing more than compose music for these types of platforms.  So, I decided to be the movie and game composer in my mix of artists.  Haha!

That said, I am not currently working on any film or game projects, so, naturally, I made one up!  I'm writing up the story and will have it and the music available on my website, once it's complete.  From there, I hope to not only have it serve its own purpose of simply being fun and desirable to listen to, but to have it act as a sort of partial portfolio, proving to potential clients that I'm able to do such a thing!

Performances

While I don't perform frequently these days (and when I do, it's often at private functions), it has been known to happen from time to time.  I played a private party in early December, an annual fundraiser at the end of December, and have couple of performances lined up or scheduling for later this year.  Once in a rare while, I'll show up at an open mic to try something out on an audience - looking at Monday nights at The Cure in Regina, and this Friday, I'm performing as DJ Whisky Bear at The Capitol in Regina.  If you're in town, come check it out.

Other than that, I'm playing in a band called The Lincoln Loggers.  We're ridiculous, fun, and covered in plaid.  No shows booked at the moment, but there are usually a few throughout the warm months.  Stay tuned.

I think that's about it for January.

If there's anything you'd like to see here, as a Patron, please let me know!  I'd like to make this as excellent for both of us as possible.

'Til next time, lots of love,

Chris
