SSFPIV Update

Hi all,

Thought I'd share a quick update on all the little components that make up this big project...

Music

I really hit a wall this winter. I'm struggling to get the last couple of tracks done for Part I. In trying to strike the balance between recognizably fitting with the themes and not sounding too repetitive, I've gone through a number of iterations and versions and failures. I keep feeling like if I just go for "good enough", I'll end up with something I regret. I might end up piecing together some of these incomplete ideas to form something that sounds a little more pleasing to me.

Mixing/Mastering

The songs sound really good, music-wise, but they lack a certain professionalism. I've always kind of gotten by with faking this step on my own, but I don't think I can do justice to these very orchestral tracks, so I'm looking for someone who can help for cheap.

Artwork x3 or More

I've had a couple of lines on artwork for this project fall through now. It's a bit frustrating, but it's one of the aspects that I can't really do on my own, so I'm still looking for pro help with this. If you know anyone, send them my way.

Extras

I'm working out some collectible stuff for this project. I don't quite want to spill everything yet, but I'm hoping it really adds to the story experience. Once I know what this looks like, I'll bring patrons in on it first, as always.

That's where I'm at for now.

Thank you, as always, for your support. This stuff is a lot of work and it's extra hard in the coldest, darkest days. If I were just doing it for myself, I probably would have quit by now. I keep slogging through writers block, seasonal depression, and general exhaustion (don't worry - I take breaks when needed, eat healthy, exercise, and am not going to collapse or anything), driven by the excitement of getting to share the final product with you before the rest of the world!

Cheers,

Chris
